As part of our Holocaust and Genocide Memorial Day outreach programme, staff from the Parkes Institute visit local Sixth Forms and Colleges to facilitate testimony-based workshops accompanied by a Holocaust survivor.

After the workshops, students are asked to reflect on their experience and produce a piece of writing about the visit. Every year we collate responses and they are at the centre of the annual Holocaust & Genocide Memorial Day exhibition which is displayed at Avenue Campus (University of Southampton) and The Spark Building (Solent University Southampton).

In absence of a physical exhibition for 2021, we have curated a collection of responses from previous years from students across Hampshire. Navigate the links below to discover how we deliver our outreach sessions, to learn more about those who share their testimony, and to view creative writing and reflective pieces from local students.
